No surprises there then!

If it stops when you brake it is either caliper or pads, or it wouldn't go when you are braking.

Likely pads rattling against pads shims.
I refer you to my earlier post that was derided by some.

There’s a similar post to this a few months back. Similar symptoms with the when you brake the noise stops etc. E-Bmw if I’m correct suggested it was was the pads rattling against the shims and was correct. I think the post was from robbocop? I’d recommend going with what E-Bmw has suggested, won’t cost much or anything at all.

Sorry for the duff advice.
I fitted two new drop links to my car last weekend and it has cured my rattle. I knew it would though because it was possible to see the play in the drop links by moving the anti roll bar using a crowbar.

I stand by my "derision" if you want to call it that. I did not say that your diagnosis was incorrect, just that your assertion that suspension rattles can not change under braking is incorrect.

Not a problem & ftr I absolutely understand what you say, but there is braking & braking, from the description of what the OP says I made assumption that the braking was light & therefore suspension compression was not what was highlighting the issue.
