Hello, not sure if there is a mechanical section to post questions?

Basically I have a mk4 astra gsi, and I fitted some bilstein b8 shocks and lowering springs.
my question is the rubber plate that sits in the engine bay that the the strut not screws to, sits quite high ,higher than it used to when the oe struts were fitted and theres quite a bit of movement when turning the wheels, is there something ive missed doing here?
