What is this creaking sound from rear wheels?

Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me what this noise from the rear wheels is (Civic)?

The creaking type sound is coming from the rear wheels when you turn your steering wheel lock to lock while stationary. The car has a power steering, traction control and tyre pressure warning light on the dash but I suspect this is unrelated as this particular sound is clearly coming from the rear tyres.

Driving the car there is no sound/suspenson issues - the sound is only when stationary doing lock to lock.

Any help would be most appreciated in helping me diagnose the issue.

Can't open that for some reason but try again with your hand brake off.

I'll bet it doesn't do it.

Try again with your hand brake on hard as you can & it will be different again.

It is very slight movement of the pads/shoes against the surface caused by the minute movement of the car.

Thanks for the reply E-bmw. Interesting suggestion that it's handbrake related, will definitely try this.
