Hello all,

I've been having an issue with the NS front of my 2014 Fiesta ST180 since last August.
Going over bumps of any size results in a rattling sound that has progressively gotten worse over time. Yesterday it got to the point that a sharp left turn caused a small squeak.

I've also recently noticed that there is uneven tyre wear, however this is on the OS tyre. The pattern looks to be excessive toe.

I've ordered a new strut, shock and spring, and have recently replaced both sway bar links. Is replacing the strut likely to resolve this issue, or is it likely to be caused by a steering component?

Aplreciate any help, stay safe.

Top mount maybe? Controls the angle of the top of the shock, and normally has a bearing to allow the shock to twist. I’d be looking at that personally.

Could be many things, randomly just fitting bits won't necessarily sort the issue.

"Excessive toe" as you put it will wear both tyres as all you end up doing is re-centring the steering to even the wear when driving.

Get an experienced mechanic who knows what to look for under it would be my advice.
