I've got a set of 16" BBS split rims with black centres which I'd like to get repainted in gold. Anyone on here had this done, and if so who by ? Am I right in thinking that the bolts and seals should be renewed if the wheels are stripped ?

Thanks

Hmm. Just checked your profile , and I doubt there'e a wheel refurbisher within 300 miles of you

My mate , who owns a tyre shop , uses Spit and Polish every time. You wouldn't need to replace the bolts , but the wheel will be returned to you in pieces.

What you need to do then is to buy a (M7, I think) tap to clean out the holes.( cheap one cos you're not cutting metal with it , about £6)

You'll obviously need the correct (Torx?) bit.

Spit and polish will do them mail order IIRC

Lepsons (Kent) have done rims for a colleague of mine - silver paint, polished rims, and outer spokes. Did a great job (genuinely), and I reckon they'd be able to sort out your request to.

Gerraway! I'd have thought there would be a thriving cottage industry in Liverpool, refurbishing all the stolen alloys before resale?
