hello everybody,this is driving me mad;bought this bmw 1 series 2.0 petrol,fsh,drove fine,did a bit of work got a new mot,parked it in the garage,2 weeks go by,went to start it,was fine,thought id drive a mile or so to charge things up,well quite a bit of white condensation followed me up the road,then started missing like mad,only just made it back home at 1o mph,stopped smoking by then,and didnt smoke on start up today....plugged in the obd tool,came up with a these codes,
29CD 29CD 29DC 29CE DME 2EF7MAP THERMOSTAT ACTIVATION DTC STATUS CURRENT.

29CC missfire several cylinders
29cd missfire cyl 1
29dc cyl injection cutout,dtc status current.
29ce miss...cyl 2status current.


these are todays messages,was different yesterday said 1and..4 missfire,ive swopped the plugs and coils around cleared the faults,codes and cylinders didnt change,so think the coils and plugs are ok been told it could be ....computor,,fuel pump...injectors.vanos selenoids...ect ect..the plugs were all dry and slightly sooty,,,,cracked open 2 fuel unions supplying the cylinder faults,was plenty of pressure......so dont know what to do anymore....dont have the tools to check the injectors,,any idea,s folks.......

Head gasket?

Any pressure build up in the coolant expansion tank? Any oil in water or vice versa?

No water is fine, plugs were dry, cap didnt shoot in the air🤔

timing chain slipped is common on the 2.0 N43 engine what year is the car?

2009 was fine, only been parked in garage, started up let it idle 5 mins, then tried to nip up the road....

A main Vauxhall dealer did you a trade sale?

Your statutory rights still apply.

Inform the dealer of the problem, and then call citizens advice.

A trade sale only applies if they've sold to another trader, not a consumer.

But has your "did a bit of work" caused the problem?

Flat or very tired/dead battery will throw up a lot of faults?

Battery fully charged, just took of the ecu to get tested... 🙈
