My son's Skoda Octavia MK1 estate has developed an odd ABS issue.

The issue is that under light braking, the ABS kicks in for no reason at all, seems to always be the right front based on the noise and it can be felt through the steering.

The right front ABS sensor was replaced recently, and it cured the issue for a short while (matter of weeks) and then the same fault returned.

No codes are recorded in the ECU.

The ABS light doesn't come on at all.

Both front ABS sensors were replaced today, but yet the fault prevails, and we are now out of ideas.

Theories I have are broken wire somewhere between sensor and module or issue with ABS ring(s).

The fault seemed to coincide with some work that was done on the steering - occurred following replacement of the power steering hoses, so we wondered about the possibility of something being disturbed during that work.

Work done on the steering was: (fixed as per MOT)

Nearside Front Lower Power steering pipe/hose slightly corroded Beside sump (2.1.5 (g) (i))
Offside Front Power steering pipe/hose slightly corroded Below pump (2.1.5 (g) (i))
Offside Play in steering rack inner joint(s) ()

Is there anything within the above that could have been assembled incorrectly, or perhaps other issue that could have cause damaged to the ABS system?

Faulty reluctor ring.
Don't know if they are on the driveshaft or the disk on those but I'd say almost certainly a cracked or corroded ring

edit: looks like they are on the hub

If it were me I would be looking VERY closely at everything that could have been left undone when this was done.

If there was an issue with the ABS there would be a warning light/code.
