Hi

I understand these tyres need replacing, but what chances this will cause a MOT failure? they don't seem very deep at all

It's kind of hard for anyone to work out tread depth from a photo like that. Measure it across the width using some paper and a pencil or whatever at then you can figure out if it's a fail or not.

Have the tread wear indicators been reached? What is the tyre date?

There looks to be nothing wrong with them seems to be more then enough tread left and the crack's are superficial

Tread depth is fine 5.5mm, it's the crack in the tire wall just below the tread, this was bought up in a service.

age is 25/16 so just over 5 years

Are those cracks along the base of the blocks too?

That doesn't look normal to me and I'd be concerned about the state of the tyre as a whole.

Ultimately your MOT tester is the only opinion you need.

They will quite likely pass, but it would be wise to plan to change them in the none-to-distant future anyway.
