Hello to all,

Anyone out there know what the ratings should be on the front shocks for a 1980 911 SC.

I believe the ratings available are:

149/108

159/127

212/164

225/112 (not sure about this one)

I think the first figure is the speed they return to normal position while the second figure is the compression resistance.

I have fairly old Bilsteins on the back - probably 194/150 ratings since this is what was standard for a sport car of the period.

I understand that the higher the number, the stiffer the car. So which one should I pick? The car is in very good unmodified condition but does to 3 or 4 trackdays per year and is fairly on the pace considering age and handling reputation. I don't want to get into the modification game so am not planning any other suspension upgrades (such as ARB, Torsion bars, strut brace etc).

I have pretty much concluded that the 149/108 is the right option - seems to be mildly stiffer than the standard Boge suspension (car is a non-sport spec).

Thoughts/advice please.

I'd also go with that - if you are fairly happy with the car dont mess about with dampers and leave the springs (torsion bars) standard
