Seem to be loosing air in all 4 wheels
Discussion
Hi guys,
This is a bit of an odd one I have had our Focus ST for just under two years now and every 3 weeks or so the pressure warning lights would come on. Would find one or two tyres were a bit low but nothing to be alarmed about. The tyres were getting low on tred so had the rears replaced a year ago and just had the fronts done in the last month.
I am now finding 3 out 4 wheels (different ones each time) will be down 10psi in 2 weeks and today one of the fronts was at 15psi (should be 36). I am guessing the valves were bad before and the fitters just refitted them rather than replacing. Any ideas how I can check? Big bucket of water? Also how much is new valves and refit going to set me back?

Are your wheel rims in decent condition? One of my cars was losing air from all tyres, which I knew was corroded / pitted wheel rims. Got them refurbed last year, and no problems since.
They seem to be all in reasonable shape, no worse than other car's I have. They do seem to have a bit laquer peel around the valves (typical ford lol). Daston said:

That's extremely unlikely. It is universal standard practice in my experience to rip the old valves out and replace them when replacing the tyres. It's also extremely unlikely that a new tyre would leak let alone multiple new tyres.
The most likely explanation imo is that either your rims are leaking, or you're letting the air out yourself inadvertantly while monitoring the pressure, or somebody else is letting them down.
I have a focus ST . A new valve with tpms is between £10-£30 per corner fitted depending on where you go and how much time you have. It shouldnt take any more than 1hour to fit the new ones.
I had the front left one changed as it was not holding pressure just like the OPs. It was down 10psi once a week.
The car pings to warn you at this amount of pressure loss.
