Looking for a decent OBD tool to use on a 2005 merc a class & 2016 nissan (the nissan is diesel, so the ability to perform forced DPF regen would be good)

I've been looking at the Autel Maxicom 808 as here;

It seems these are Genuine but non UK versions, anyone had any experience?

fk me they're £465! Surely there's a cheaper option unless you intend to use it very regularly.

I bought one of these and it has all of the functionality of the big machines. Download the app to your phone and plug in the OBD dongle.

The only downside (if you can call it that), is that you need to pay £12 p/yr for each vehicle manufacturer diagnostics. Obviously a bit of an issue if you're using it for your business, but for the DIYer it's fine.

I'm open to spending less! I need something that can clear fault codes on the Merc & do a forced DPF regen on the nissan if needed. The dealer did the last regen for free as i'd not long bought it, but he did say its usually a couple of hundred quid if it needs doing.

I bought one of these for basic code reading, appears to work well on my lotus and lexus.

When I had a merc I bought an Icarsoft unit, it was superb, a lot more expensive though.
