....dodgy brakes

My brakes have suddenly gone from being good to almost unusable in the space of a couple of days. I now have to press the pedal almost to the bulkhead to get any purchase and then it seems to "snatch" so the car stops rapidly. It doesn't feel spongey and pumping away at the pedal does nothing to improve it...

Can anyone give me some ideas of what it could be? I have her booked into the garage on Saturday but it would be good to point them in the right direction!

Sorry. bit late spotting this one.
My guess would be servo and I would have suggested a test.

Thanks for the response - turned out to be a split hose and got it sorted pretty quick!
