Advice Needed - VW Bora Top Mounts

My Workhorse, a VW Bora TDi 115, requires both front and rear suspension top mounts changing. Can anyone offer some help regarding the job at hand. What special tools may be required (coil spring compressor?) and any helpful hints. I think that the rear beam bushes may require replacement also, what symptoms would the car have if these were worn?

From memory the struts are just straight foward mcpherson layout..Undo the top mount securing bolt(s) under the bonnet, and i think there are to at the bottom of the strut securing it to the hub assembley probably either 17 or 19mm....If the steering track rods are connected to the strut you have to disconnect them...put the strut in a vice ,latch on your strut clampsand tighten down evenly and the undo top mount securing nut
