Left it smelling cleaner, and with nice scent - but still smokey, if that in any way make sense.

Next up I tried the airvidox over night:

So far I think it may have worked. Car still has a neutral / chlorine smell about it but I haven't picked up any smoke yet. It's only been 10 days but I've done 4 journeys (2x 15 mins and 2 x 60 mins) and the smell is consistent.

I'm holding out hope and if it doesn't return I'll whack another bomb in there (though they do make a right fking mess).
Dang: I’d just ordered the same ‘kit’ that you used. I suppose at least I know what to try next if it doesn’t work…

I reckon they're all appropriate anyway. If I was you I'd pop an airvidox in after the ac cleaner and then do the bomb after that. For an extra £22 it's not worthy worrying about. Keep me updated!

Thanks for the advice: I’ve ordered the Airvidox and shall let you know how it goes.

Well I’ve given it all a go:

1) new cabin filter
2) A/C cleaner
3) Airvidox
4) Odor (sic) bomb

Slight issues are: the odor (sic) bomb sprayed higher than I thought, so I have a rather wet headlining… also, I’ve currently got Covid, so my lack of sense of smell means I’ve no idea if it’s worked or not!

I’ll try to report back when I can smell again…

I got that too - thankfully it wiped off mine without staining.

Hope it works for you - I'm nearly 3 weeks in and the smell has not returned at all, just a faint whiff of chemical neutralness left from the airvidox.

Just over a week in, and my sense of smell has returned.

Fortunately, the pipe smoke whiff hasn’t. Still a bit chemically though, but gradually decreasing.

Grand!

I actually like the chemical smell after a couple of weeks, it mellows out to a nice level laugh
