VW Beetle Alloy Wheels

I love my 2002 Beetle Turbo ...sad as I am !
I bought it just 3months from new, already fitted with BBS alloy wheels which are a devil to clean and now are corroding and the paint coming off - I don't know whether to have them refurbished (or what cost/hassle that could be) or go for a replacement set of easier clean ones as I'm not actually struck on the BBS anymore but would welcome any comments either way on this !
On the replacement front, I'm rather liking the VW Houston range, or possibly the VW Sima range. I don't want to put a fashionable looking cheap set though. 'At the end of the day' I guess I could sell the BBS set for a few bob !
