Hi, I've had my Audi for a year now and the paintwork has been through a lot of unfortunate stuff. My paintwork has a lot of swirls in it and I have some pretty big scratches on the rear passenger door, when I wash the car and there is soap over these scratches they are not visible at all. I also have quite a few stone chips on the hood and passenger side of the vehicle (probs 10 in total). I am now looking to get these repaired so I can stop being so disappointed every time I look at my car.

I am pretty confident the swirls on the car can be taken out by a polish and wax. There are light scratches on the paintwork in other places which I also believe should be fixable without a respray. The rear passenger door scratches are deeper so I am not too sure about them, I was looking at ChrisFix's video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nYF46P7B2c - which shows him sanding through the clear coat and then polish + waxing to remove the scratch. I am wondering if this is possible with my car and who I can find to do it for me.

In an ideal world I am looking for a detailer who is willing to spend some time touching up the stone chips, polishing and waxing and removing the bigger scratches. Ideally I want to avoid respraying the door, also I don't think respraying the whole car is needed.

I am interested in your opinions as I am a little confused who to take the car to or exactly what work I should do on it. I don't want to spend tons of money fixing it but am willing to put a good few hundred into it, if not more.

It won't let me open up the pictures to see the damage, it's asking for a login.
Where abouts are you?

Woops, here you go:

Based in Buckinghamshire.

EDIT: I'm tempted to buy some kit and give this a go myself to be honest.

Have a look at detailR.
Or if you fancy getting all the bits to try you yourself, Clean Your Car do some good machine polisher bundles.

When I've asked for similar recommendations, the companies below were mentioned although I can't recall one company able to offer the chip repairs and the paint detailing work.

I'm no expert but from what I've read, I believe the chip repairs need doing first before the detailing work. The chips will also need doing well, possibly a complete respray, as I understand the detailing process will remove cheaper chip fixes such as touch up paint.

Some of these aren't close to you but these are people who have been recommended to me - note I've not used any of these myself:

Chips/respray:
- Riviera Autobody, Wallingford
- ERB Motors
- Everyway Solutions, Southampton
- Banbury Body and Paint, Segensworth
- Cambridge Body Shop
- Pendletons, Ash

Detailing:
- Tim @Envy Detailing, Gosport
- Tintex, Portsmouth
- Renovatio, Surrey
