Lamborghini has used Monterey Car Week to celebrate its US success by unveiling a new, limited-edition Huracan. Dubbed the Huracan EVO GT Celebration, the car pays homage to Lambo's 2018 and '19 dual victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring. The total duration of those two races has led to them being collectively referred to as the '36 Hours of Florida', in line with which just 36 examples of the supercar will be produced.

Its colourful Egeria green and Arancio Aten orange design evokes the livery of the dominant GRT Grasser Racing Team which took three of the four wins - Paul Miller Racing claimed the 2018 class win at Sebring on behalf of the marque. Hexagonal number 11 decals, centre-locking wheels, Alcantara upholstery and bespoke racing seats complete the racecar aesthetic, while definitely-not-tacky optional laurel wreath decals marking the victories and a Lamborghini Squadra Corse shield, applied on the roof and framed by the Italian and US flags are available too.

Those 36 cars will be available for the US market only, though, so alongside them Sant'Agata has announced a limited-run SVJ roadster as well. The result of a collaboration between Lamborghini and... Lamborghini, the Aventador has been specced by a combination of the marque's Centro Stile design team and Ad Personam customisation department. The sort of thing that always ends well, then...

Drawing on the "virtually limitless colour and trim options available through Lamborghini's personalization program" the teams came up with the car you see before you: the Aventador SVJ 63. Available to collectors worldwide - at least it was, before they all sold out prior to launch - the 63 cars feature a choice of gloss or matt carbon fibre roof, engine cover, engine air vents, windscreen rim and wing mirrors. There's a new matt titanium finish for the forged rims, a bespoke SVJ 63 livery, and a '1 of 63' numbered plate too.

Deliveries of both cars will commence next year, so keep an eye on Instagram then for a fleeting glimpse of one or both before they disappear into collections for eternity. In the case of these two, though, perhaps that might not be such a bad thing after all...

Evo with a fancy paint job, be another year or so before the special Evo launches (probably Superleggera), then that's it for R8/Hurrcan V10 in it's current form, at the very least they'll get turbo charged to meet emissions requirements but I could see a V6/8 Hybrid platform replacing them.

I don't mind the Huracan - the colours don't work well together but it's a tribute to a racing livery.

The SVJ Roadster though, "virtually limitless colour and trim options available through Lamborghini's personalization program" and they come up with a matte black car with red trim? Really? How boring

Boring I know, but passed a Range Rover on the M1 today with the reg number SVJ 63.
