Last Xmas the missus got me one of these but I have never used it.
My normal car are is, twice a year, I clay then polish then HD wax the car. Rest of year it’s snowfoam, shampoo and dry. Always use Autoglym products.

I have a solid white BMW X1 and son has a black Polo GTI. The Polo obviously has lots of swirl etc marks. My car has marks from previous owner’s car was processes I guess.

I have read a few things on here and detailing world, as well as some YouTube videos so it is bamboozling me what to do next. One guy swears by Scholl S20 black but the next guy swears by something else.

I am looking to know what pad and product to use for a one stage correction? Secondly, would I still be able to apply HD Wax afterwards ( or would there be no need?). I’d rather not end up with 5 different bottles on the shelf!

I have my daughter’s 10 year old metallic blue Toyota Aygo that I can practice on first!

All advice would be welcome.

I've used the S20 black on a few cars and been very impressed with it.
I used it with orange hex logic pads.
It will leave a residue on the paint afterwards which some say you have to remove first with a panel wipe/de greaser.
I didn't bother and just used sonax bsd over the top without issue.
I would probably want to use a panel wipe/de greaser when applying a more expensive wax though.

Cheers for response.

So do you not actually need to apply a wax after this or does this act as a sealant wax?

Will need to look into the panel wipe degreaser. Can you use something like this , diluted down?

Yes you need to apply some sort of protection afterwards, it just corrects.
I personally use a spray type detailer more often than a full on wax.
As for panel wipe I’d use something less aggressive than the stuff you linked to such as this.
