Hi all,
Seeing as the weather was nice this weekend I ordered a few bits to wash my filthy car. I went for Surfex HD and Auto Foam, now i followed these exact steps https://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.... and calculated how much product I needed per water in my Lance, all good I thought, however to cover my car (4X4/SUV) I used practically my whole lance on it. From seeing reviews online everybody mentioned how little of the foam they used out of the Lance so I’m a bit baffled how I used the whole bottle? Anybody else had this or have I done something wrong? I set the snow foam Lance to minus and also was on minus when I applied as per linked review above.
I’m really happy with the results but at 560ml per wash it would only take me just under 9 washes until the product is used up, which is a considerably less than I’ve seen from the reviews on varied sizes of cars.

Rightly or wrongly I don't get that involved, I put about 20mm of foam in to the lance bottle, if using a normal strength shampoo about the same and then fill the bottle with warm water. If the shampoo is a high strength one (like BH) I will put less in.
Works fine for me. The best thing you can do for foam is to have a polished/waxed car, even when it gets dirty the muck slides off so much easier to the point you hardly need to handwash afterwards.
