Winter Bird Poop

I'm getting dive-bombed by some avian pests who visit a nearby Oak tree down the road, They only seem to be targetting the carbon roof of my M3 but that's another matter. I don't clean the car much during winter and just spray a bit of WD40 or Bird Sh8t Remover and hose it off whenever poop appear. My question is - do the remaining bits of poop cause damage to lacquer or clearcoat or is my softening and blasting off most of the black stuff sufficient for winter maintenance?
