Daughter heading to Aus

Well, thought I'd bump this thread as she has been in Perth now since late November.
She looked as the first couple of months as a holiday and she has now got a job in a coffee shop which she loves.
The 3 girls she went with are turning a bit strange. Rather insular and not seeming to want to do much other than mix with boys at the hostel. Anyway, they may move on without my daughter. She doesn't seem worried about that and gets on better now with some others from the hostel. I'm pretty relaxed about this but SWMBO is a little hissy about it.
All in all Perth sounds like a great place to start this sort of trip.
Dont worry too much about that - A good friend of mine went travelling to Aus when we were in our early 20s. She went in a group of 4-5 people and after a few weeks they ended up arguing and bickering about silly things (as girls do!) - My friend ended up staying in Sydney with new friends she'd met at work whilst some of the others returned to England and others went elsewhere in Aus.She looked as the first couple of months as a holiday and she has now got a job in a coffee shop which she loves.

If she wants to experience Melbourne and needs a place to start from (get accomodation, job etc) we are retired and our daughters have moved out/married/had children. We could put her up for a week or two if she needs a safe start. She looked as the first couple of months as a holiday and she has now got a job in a coffee shop which she loves.
