Congratulations - hope to see you and the car at a few events. What part of the country are you based in?

Thanks. I'm in West Wales .... miles from civilisation! Intend to use the car so will be out and about looking for fellow owners.

I did post a photo of my GTE on here 18 months ago, but here's another one for fun. This time taken by an employee in the Lotus Motorsport building when nearing build completion. His snap-shots were all it took to convince me to pull the trigger and send a deposit.

I felt like a kid in a sweet shop when we finally got to see it in there not long afterwards. Even my wife was impressed! There were 3 or 4 other GTEs there also being prepared. Having never seen one in the flesh before, they all just seemed magical to behold!

This is stunning! just wow - definitely would stop me in my tracks if I saw it on the road.

It's a Reverie, and a proper job that's mounted to the chassis, too.

I was a bit unsure about it before I bought the car, but it's really grown on me - a bit of a guilty pleasure!

It's the only thing that offers any kind of hint that the car isn't entirely standard, that and the supercharger whine biggrin

I was looking at a carbon wing for racing but having fitted one it caused, unsurprisingly, lots of understeer. Have you suffered this since fitting yours and if so what have you done to address it?
Obviously, what you do to the rear you do to the front in the interests of balance but I can't see any serious aero on the front of your car.

Thanks, I thought if I was going to buy an Elise then get something different. My last cars were primarily Hondas (S2000 & CTR) so Lotus is all new to me.

I'm not scared of the spanner and reckon this car will be something fun to work on if required too. biggrin

Hi Purso, unfortunately I haven't had chance to drive the 2-Eleven since driving it almost 200 miles back from Glasgow. However, I would say that the 340R has a lot more character and I think that is due to the way that the engine delivers it's power. The 2-Eleven has a stage 1 exhaust but is tame and refined in comparison. The reliability of the Toyota engine is reassuring, but for me the VHPD Rover K series takes some beating when used in this type of car. In a 340R with a decat it is simply fantastic. I think I need to upgrade the exhaust on the 2-Eleven to address the balance.

Tame? Is that a supercharged 2-11? Try a stage 2 Lotus one, it's mental.

Hi Lagerlout yes it is a supercharged Launch Edition 2-eleven. I'm not saying that it isn't quick as it is without doubt quicker than the 340R. I think it has less character than the 340R though as the engine / exhaust doesn't sound as good and you don't feel the heat coming up through the cabin, smell the fuel and experience the lumpy idle etc. For me outright performance is not the key thing.

Danny.
