Anyone know this S1 Elise?

I'm looking for a new toy and wondered if anyone knew this car? https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

I don't know too much about S1's and the mods it has, so any buying advice would be much appreciated.

That car is also in the classifieds on SELOC. Worth registering if you want Elise advice (or any Lotus).

There is also an 'Elise S1 Community' group on Facebook too if you are on social media. Quite a lot of members now, so questions are answered quickly.

Is a hardtop really worth £1000-£1500? I thought that they were going for £500 - £800.

Does make me wonder what else has been 'inflated'

On a special edition or otherwise 'rare' Elise then modifications can detract from the value as has been seen in the past couple of years.

On a normal base car then modifications if done properly or tastefully can add value sure, one certainty is that you'll never get the cost of your mods back so may as well take of someone else's expenditure

I'd agree the hard top is only worth a maximum of £1k in the open market. S1 prices are moving upwards quite nicely year on year now.

You'd need to check how old the tyres are given the low mileage. Also, the MOT history online indicates an advisory for the last 2 tests on the anti roll bar links.
