Lotus has been releasing teaser photos of a new Lotus Evora variant. It has wheel-arch cutouts for the front and rear wheel arches and an utterly enormous wing.

It remains to be seen whether it will be road legal, but it looks to be the Evora equivalent of the Exige 380 Cup. It's anyone's guess as to power output but 430bhp seems reasonable. There will be lots of carbon-fibre, as per the Sport 410 Evora.

Here's a comparison that someone's done between the wheel arch vent 'teaser' photo and a standard Evora 400.

It has rear parking sensors, so definitely road legal I would say. Looks like an Evora GTE replacement.

Before this story hits the main pages of PH after tomorrow's embargo is lifted, should we play some sort of "Typical PH Response Bingo" game?

I'll start with a few obvious ones:

1) "It's too expensive"
2) "A GTR is quicker to 60mph"
3) "Interior is no good"

Feel free to join in. First prize is a place on a non-existent waiting list at your local Porsche dealership.

By my reckoning a GTR is an overweight 'Tintop' - totally different type of driving machine to any Lotus, Undoubtably plenty of Jap 'fan boys' are gonna disagreesmile
Having said that most Evora's ain't that lightweight compared to CC's vision for Lotus cars from his erafrown

MrDemon (or whatever he calls himself this week) will be along to tell us that it's more expensive, slower, less exclusive and not as well built as whatever German borefest he's driving at the moment.

Exactly might as well get it all out now! Lotus make amazing cars, doubtless whatever this it'll be no exception, looking forward to seeing what they've been up to.

9) German unobtainium is faster and handles better
8) its made of plastic
9) engines are crap because other enormous makers of 4x4 bling make their own

I bet it will be more expensive, but my guess is a 430 Cup. (or a crazy price GTE) And yes it's won't be as well built lol

The thing is the new 500BHP GT3 is 110k so it's a tough market to crack and I can only state facts.

Lotus need to supply some orders or fix some warranty cars, not keep bringing new stuff you cannot order ! or you can order but will never get !
They seem to have a parts shortage so what ever it is it needs to be a 2nd car as they won't be able to fix it when you take it back for some more glue !

I have been asking for a Sprint test drive for about 3 months, no cars, I know people who have ordered Exiges with Carbon parts no cars, again people ordered Evora 410's , no cars !!!

It's a brave mans choice Lotus these days.

All warranty items on my Evora sorted 2 weeks ago whilst the car was at the dealers, despite being warned there is a wait for parts. Most bits sorted in 2 days, 2 week wait only for cruise control switch.

All warranty items were niggles, nothing major.

Before options. And I bet not a single GT3 has left the factory without about £10k of options on top.

Ordered my 410, arrived the week promised. No issues on cf shortages etc... in fact line last week was busy with 410's and 380 Cups. But then again I only buy them rather wait for test drives.

Heh Porsche 911R: can you do me a really massive favour and refrain from making ANY post in the upcoming PH General Gassing thread when this new car is revealed on Thursday? we all know you're desperate to get on and criticise it so there's no point in you wasting your time by posting.

Thanks in advance and no hard feelings mate. Life's too short etc.

Same with my old 'S'. No real issues, a few minor niggles all sorted speedily, in fact Lotus service, ( Bell & Colvill ), is one of the best I've come across. The days of 'Lots of trouble...etc etc' are long since gone. Expect great things from Hethel over the next few years, exciting times ahead.

Has to start with an "E" to maintain tradition. So it'll be the Egeely Gibbon and launched in Yorkshire. thumbup
