Heh Porsche 911R: can you do me a really massive favour and refrain from making ANY post in the upcoming PH General Gassing thread when this new car is revealed on Thursday? we all know you're desperate to get on and criticise it so there's no point in you wasting your time by posting.

Thanks in advance and no hard feelings mate. Life's too short etc.
I am not your mate :-p , and I will have opinions :-) don't read them or forums if it's upsetting , as it will be launched on other sites before PH.
I am a Lotus fan (had them for 5 years), I just find them frustrating to deal with, my last one failed on me 3 times the last time I just sent it on a low loader and told them to drop it off at their front door at Hethel !

They don't give a st once they have your money, it's all about new car sales, nice little cars 50% off 2nd hand 2 years later mind you.
And I'll prob buy one again, if I can keep up with the model tweaks which just piss every one off.

Every one is looking forward to the 430 Cup 450GTE or what ever it will be at 10am, and we all await the ""how much faster round Hethel" line :-)
But the price is going to make peoples eyes water I would say.

And how many model tweeks have Porsche made?
You must be absolutely furious with them, lol

While I would agree that trying to compete with a GT3 price wise is probably not a good idea (no one can seriously deny that a GT3 is an outstanding machine both in terms of handling and drive train), trying to say that a 410 is unobtainable is ridiculous. Have you tried buying a GT3 recently? oh no, wait.... And your lotus went pop? What about those lovely engine fires the GT3s had? forgotten about those?

Damn, they have taken it down. Dark grey, huge wing - 430BHP, 0-60mph in 3.7.

Front end revised styling too - MUCH more resolved than last iteration, kind of a cross between s1 and 400 - looks fantastic.

1250KG or so.

No price on the page I could fine. Hopefully it will be back soon.

Dang that looks nicer than any Porsche GT3 I've ever seen. Fair bit lighter too.

I am a bit surprised they managed to get that rear wing homologated for road use.

As much as I love this car and my 400, stop mucking about Lotus and give us the car the chassis was originally designed for...longitudinal V10 with 5-600hp, revised styling to make it sleeker (call it an Esprit)...from some angles the Evora looks fantastic, and others, decidedly awkward. For many people looks are 90% of the decision to purchase. Best do it quick though because only hybrid or electric will be competitive soon.
