Looking forward to seeing the car in person at Goodwood FoS. Very tempted to place an order. I’m not convinced on a 4 pot because engine sound is a big part of the driving experience for me. However I’m going to hold back deciding on what I go for until the launch. Hopefully we will get some good honest reviews out soon.

I can’t believe it’s the reveal for this tomorrow and there seems to be no mention or discussion of it anywhere other than on the lotus forums.

I can’t believe it’s not been leaked! Shown to press last weekend and sat on a trailer waiting for Goodwood right now. Still nothing leaked anywhere!

Snatching PR defeat from the jaws of victory, having kept it under wraps until the very last minute.

You don't think that was a deliberate leak? wink

Confirmed what most thought - an Evora with a new dress and underwear?

I'm reserving judgement until I actually see it. I still don't like the Evora in photos but its very different up close (better)

Bloody stupid if it was, it’s not a flattering shot and it blows the excitement of the release.

We knew it was going to be mid engined, I don’t think it looks particularly Evora derived. The point of VVA was always flexibility.

We're off to Central Lotus this evening for some sort of reveal event. If it's a first hand reveal (which I doubt), I'll grab some snaps and have a proper nosey, although the car will no doubt be all over the media by then. thumbup

I'm watching the live event on the internet this evening. Should be fun. It'll look much like the Evija and by all accounts a bit bigger than the Evora which I find a bit strange.

Space for a longitudinal engine?

Something looks odd about that picture on reflection - it's the small wheels and arch overhangs, and the almost deliberate fuzzy/pixelated look.

..could this be a deliberate 'smoke bomb' to put us off the scent I wonder?

I also nearly put an order in but speaking with the dealer they indicated the pre-order numbers are pretty low, and seeing as this won't be a limited production run, anyone that ordered one would get one so it made me put away the cheque book and await the launch and prices etc. If it means waiting a couple of months extra next year for delivery then so be it.

I had a similar conversation and took a similar view. I'm quite happy with my Ferrari so waiting is no challenge

Well this is the other factor at play, with prices for s/h cars rising rather than falling at present, its little hardship to keep hold of whatever you own in the meantime, so long as running costs aren't painful (and would have been incurred anyway). I had fancied another Exige but in V6 guise, but with availability drying up and a refusal to pay the strong money for nearly new cars, my attention has instead turned to the Emira. I don't like buying new, however, but it just might make some sense on this occasion.

I think you massively over estimate Lotus' PR department.
