I see Tim Burton has revealed his spec for the car.

I've seen the paint samples and green is very dark. Like the red which is a dark red and nothing like Calypso red.

Not sure about wheels. I normally prefer black, but the silver looks good
Mrs Bert has said that only yellow will do! Have to have a rethink. Am I ok with yellow or do I need a new Mrs Bert?

Have to agree with Mrs Bert. As far as I am concerned, Ferraris are red, Alpines blue and Loti yellow (at least mine were). Slightly galling that all the other colour options are metallic and you get charged the same for a solid colour.

Are you in cahoots? She said Ferraris are red! And yes I agree it's a great shame that the yellow is a flat colour. Be sensational if it sparkled!

Yeah I was hoping metallic orange would be available, otherwise renault liquid yellow would look superb also.

I am going blue, as I've got a sparkle yellow Ferrari and I like my cars like a bag of skittles all different colours, so going with blue. biggrin

Does she often try to take enjoyment out of things, or make snide remarks? Or did you have the audacity to spec your car in the way you wanted it...

I think I've settled on:

Blue
Black Pack
Yellow callipers
Diamond cut wheels
Touring
Alcantara with yellow stitching
Alcantara wheel
No privacy glass

A few more weeks to think about it probably isn't helping...

Are many others going without the pimp tints?

Well being the master of the house I do exactly what I want….when and how I am told to smile.

I have flip flopped….spec call happening today:

V6 FE
Manual
Blue (no upper black)
Yellow callipers
Diamond cut silver / black wheels
Sports
Goodyear’s
Black / yellow stitching
Black leather steering wheel
Homelink / Tracker
Tinted glass (assuming not gangster dark)

Has everyone put their extra £3k down now and firmed up their spec'?

I'm still undecided on a few bits...

Break the rules

My Ferrari is black
My Evora Sports Racer was blue
My Evora n/a was titanium
My Alpine was blue
My Tuscan was reflex purple

So only the Alp and Tusc were conformist

V6 FE Manual
Green no black pack
Silver wheels red callipers. Probably repaint the wheels gold on first tyre change.
Tan leather.

Only question is standard or sports suspension. Ideally I'd like standard on Cup 2s.

Just watched Harry Metcalf's emira video. He said the sports suspension was surprisingly compliant and chose it. That's a relief as that's what I've done too.

Still worried about the choice of yellow though

I thought his video was great. He is always so “real world” with his reviews.

He seemed genuinely impressed.

As I have said many a time in these threads, go drive an Evora with sports chassis, the Emira on Goodyear tyres will be same or better and Emira on Cup tyres will be the same.

In short:

Touring / Goodyear - hugely compliant and subtle, best traction in wet but maybe a bit too soft for track work.
Touring / Cup 2 - Makes zero sense, your miss matching the tyre to the damper rate, would even potentially result in an aggressive break away, hence the cup 2 tyres is NOT available with touring.
Sports / Goodyear - Still compliant, still great grip in all conditions on the road and still great on track.
Sports / Cup 2 - Compliant but harsher, grip on road will be less unless its a 20c plus sunny day, grip in the wet will reduce, grip in the wet under 10c will be vastly reduced and grip in around 3c conditions will be vastly lower than Goodyear, braking on slippery wet surfaces will be severely compromised and risk of aquaplaning at motorway speeds in the wet.

I would only specify Cup 2 tyres on a car that is doing a lot of track work or is a Summer weekend only use car, otherwise the Goodyear will give you far more driving pleasure and better compliance on the road.
