Overheated Esprits????

We don't overheat we EXPLODE!!

Leaving the crank and everything else hanging out!! Very impressive! frown

I saw you sorting the old man out with a T shirt, do I get one? smile

At LEF we preferred where we were stationed this year. We had much more space and were constantly busy for the whole day.

Of course part of the delays getting in were our fault as we did have a 100 or so convoy (may have been closer to 200)

Yes - we heard the story about that one, it involved significant leptonage as I heard it.

Oh yes - we were busy too, but we didn't see as many of the staff & significant figures as we did last year (although Hazel did look a bit wistful as she passed our display)

Saw you guys on the A11 just before Snetterton, with 2 Police cars & the inside lane cordoned off. Hope you have managed to get the ol' beastie to a nice Lotus Hospital for some TLC.

OTOH - it's nice to have the problem of too many attempting to attend, but best not to get a reputation for it. Maybe a move back to the plans from last year (park and ride) would help for the next one ?
The chat around the corridors @ production line at work is that it may have been better as a 2 dayer rather than a single day. Maybe more people there in total, but fewer per day meaning easier access. But organising such an event & getting things back to a day to day running business is pretty big task for one day only, never mind 2 days.
Anyway, Yes it was an enjoyable day, (even though I see many of the things on a daily basis).Great to see so many enthusiastic people who keep us all employed @ Hethel. Thankyou

Nice Story about that. The guy you see is a guy called Walter From Belgium. He's a mate of mine and at the time of the F1 like explosion we were doing...ahem...70 mph trying to catch up with the main Esprit South Convoy.

Walter owns 6 Lotus F1 cars all running except one (If you have a Mugen Honda engine for sale let me know). The one not running was a car driven by a Belgium driver called Philippe Adams (sister car to Herbert and before Zanardi took over). A very good driver who finished second in the British F3 ahead of mika Hakkinen and won the F3000 Championship. Unfortunately he took over a seat at a rough time for Lotus,,,even to the point of driving without a seat in the car at Spa....yes without a seat!!!!! Phillipe subsequently continued to successfully race in touring cars, taking an International Group N Series, win with a BMW M3 at Magione in Italy in 1997. He also raced GT cars in Endurance events until 2000.

Anyway, he's sitting in my red Esprit infront of the exploded V8. Really nice guy, even after sitting on the side of the A11 for 3 hours.

Thats my moment of fame....thanks all those drivers who stopped or waved. We were having fun with an extremely attractive Police Woman and her partner who I used to work with....what a bizarre day!!
