I was recently asked for a magazine feature, how many NSU Ro80's i thought were still on the road. I said 25 and it shows 27 as taxed so i wasn't too far off smile Obviously all the cars that have been off the road pre SORN coming in will not be included. Very interesting stuff though, thanks for this.

As I have seen several 410s at a local garage and on the road in London, I think that there are many more than seven still going.

Interesting to see how often the sole remaining Allegro 1300 DL Auto is SORN'ed.

Was hoping to see how many Maserati Ghibli's left but the earliest listed is 1994, only 25 years out!

Ahh, just seen earliest cars listed seems to be 1994 - not much use to Classic car enthusiasts then.

That's not the years of the cars, it's the year of the data shown. smile

The list only goes back as far as 1994 because that is when the sorn data became available. It does not relate to the year of manufacture, you can check any age of vehicle and it will tell you how many were taxed or sorned for each year from 1994 to the present.

For example there were in excess of 83,000 Ford Sierra L taxed in 1994 and now there are less than 40.

Mikey / Chad: The site shows the numbers of each car that are taxed in a given year. The year of vehicle manufacture is irrelevant.

So the 2010 figure for a 635csi shows all the 635csis that were taxed or sorned that year. It has nothing to do with how many 635csis were first registered in 2010.

You see?

My dad used to get a pool car from work when his allegro was in for service. Sometimes it was the 2.3 Magnum. Those were great weekends.

Hmmm, only 95 Celica GT-Fours left apparently. A lot rarer than I thought.

Does that list take into account Japanese imports? In theory it should do as they are taxed as UK cars are.

I think I see now. So the original 1960's Ghibli is lumped in with the later 90's car of the same name. Still not much use and confuses the figures somewhat for both models which are completely different and don't share a single component. Good idea for a website all the same.

Thought you meant cars manufactured before 1994 which are listed. Obviously it can't list information not on the DVLA database.

Are there really only 15 Spitfire Mk1's left? That would be a shame.

I'll be sticking up some more data this weekend so you break the stats down further by year of first registration.. should be useful to separate those kind of cars.

It depends what they've been registered as when they were imported - I think it's an area where the DVLA don't particularly car about accuracy though frown

My import Legacy GT-B is registered as a plain old Legacy, and there was never a UK GT-B model. There are no stats at all for GT-Bs in the data set frown

I put in Ford Mustang and it lists lots of different types of Mustang - it doesn't tell me what year they are.

I put in 1966 Ford Mustang and it doesn't come up with anything.

So I then drop the year ... and I get the original information.

So if I want to know how many 1966 Ford Mustang fastback's there are registered in this country - please tell me how to do it biggrin
