Thanks for the ohotos , she Looks gorgeous , a great colour combo. I don't think that that Blue was available on UK E3s , we seem to have just had Fjord Blue . They sold well here, partly due to the difficulty of obtaining an XJ6 / 12 Jaguar, which had a long waiting list . Sadly so few E3s survive I'n Britain now .
The Alloys look very good as well, CSL rims also look good on the saloons.

Do you have any pictures of it?
I did have but cannot find at the moment (will keep looking) - it was for sale on ebay a couple of years ago but the owner kept it and has raced it at the Monterey Historic for the last few years - it's a nice dark green colour.Edited by Gregor Marshall on Friday 6th January 10:36
Hi LLoyd
Interesting to see the recollections on Tony Lanfranchi's escapades on the ,73 Avon Tour. The journey to Oulton was wilder than you can imagine and included high speed blasts on the hard shoulder and a run of about two miles on the paved verge on the opposite side of the road after leaving the motorway, running between the uprights of large road signs to avoid a huge traffic jam.
I was following/leading Tony at various stages in my CSL as he was driving the only SI left in contention, having lost both Roger Bell and Mike Woolley at Llandow with huge time penalties when their exhausts came adrift on the first special stage of the event.
I managed to blag us into the race at Oulton whilst Tony's case was considered but despite pleas of excess traffic he was excluded and that was the end of an event that we should have won.
Incidentally, he did not get stopped by the boys in blue....both cars left the Birmingham Post House in a cloud of black smoke and burning rubber pursued by a motorcycle cop but we never saw him again and reached Oulton unchallenged.
Nice picture of Gerry, Gregor....he won that race for us in the ShellSport/Radio Luxembourg car.It was the first race of the season and he had a great battle with Richard Lloyd in the Camaro.
Best wishes
John
