Anyone else spot the orange front bumper from last weeks Porsche on the bench just before he sacked his team for having lunch.

Yup. Doing two cars at the same time. naughty.

By the way, love Dylan's clipboard - just like one of those TV ads for toothpaste or detergent, when they wear the compulsory white lab coat. Tick imaginary questions on the form,( and his writing looks like a 11 yr old's.)

The interesting thing is they used two cars for this project, the car they bought was not the car they "restored"!! The bought one had the late interior/engine compartment and the "restored" one had the last of the chrome bumper interior/engine compartment only used on the early rubber cars.
Quite a pair of joker's these guys.

Can't bring myself to watch it again. American Hotrod is top notch compared to this trash.

That's interesting, if a little geeky. So that means they probably started the job, realised the car was too far gone, and got hold of another one, hoping no-one would notice.

(Bear in mind that they replaced the interior, and maybe chose the earlier version - they're not exactly ones for sticking to period appearance)

Can't decide which is more entertaining, the programme itself (doesn't take itself too seriously) or some of the posters on this thread (who clearly do) especially when you consider it's produced for the North American market.

I was we'll off with my valuation so must try harder next time.

I think the posters on the thread are more entertaining. Particularly the condescending ones.

£5000, although the finished article looked like it had been completely stripped and rebuilt with a very professional spray job, even the wheels looked new

the 'original' one was outside the yard of the bloke who gave away all the chrome bits for nothing, with the wing off

the engine bay changed completely from the 'water leak' to the 'tightening up a jubilee clip' scenes

the rust round the front window and the completely rotten sills were never mentioned again

Comments on last night's installment echo my thoughts. I flinched when the commentator (isn't he the guy from 'teachers'?) said "to restore this car properly, the plastic trim needs to be taken off and replaced with chrome". Surely that's not restoration, that's customisation?

Also, at the beginning when you see them reverse the E-Type into the engine, the Porsche is sitting on the right.

Commentator did programme called "How Do They Do It" or "How It's Done", or something like that. Maybe does school-kids progs too but don't know, but it's that type of commentary. So annoying. - "And the engine went BANNNGGGGGGG".

5 bags of sand final "valuation-by-the-expert"? Jeez, what did they pay for it?

Edit- from what I've read there's bit of trickery here with more than one car. Will have to watch this one before I can comment any more.

Agreed, the original car really was too far gone to turn into the final one.

Conclusion: cheaply made rubbish, continuity appalling, minimal content with no detail, lots of US style repetition of what's gone before, heavy on drama queens and didn't I see some very odd looking MGB's in the old clips used, looked like midgets & others to me.

"Replacing plastic trim with chrome" I think refers to the bumpers. So why call it trim?

They claimed that the total costs INCLUDING LABOUR were £2700, leaving a profit of £1800. But it took 3 weeks, so that means that the "entrepreneurs" made £300 each per week - might as well go and get a "proper" job.
