The Mini doesn't look too bad for being almost twenty five years old, looks like a Mayfair or a Sprite although it comes up as a 1275. Most surviving Minis from that period have been modified by now to look like Cooper Sportpacks with 13'' wheels and bigger arches.

Useless fact, the size of the roof on the classic and R50 Minis aren't too different in size. The R50 panoramic sunroof can be fitted to the classic Mini roof.

Hidden by the shade was a quite rusty front valance. That modern Mini panoramic roof looks pretty good in the old shell - bit of a contrast but kudos to whoever did it. Would suit a chrome surround though.

biggrin But then a Lotus Esprit was pretty much dwarfed by most of its contemporaries, at least height wise, they're almost 10" shorter than a Mini (and probably best part of 10' shorter than some of the modern ones) and 15" shorter than an Escort.

Bigger, heavier, more efficient, faster, better in a crash, but it doesn't sound as good....yep that's a modern Vs old.
