What an elegant looking car.
I guess he must like these coupe looking Italian cars as I understand earlier this year he bought a lovely Ferrari 400 whose side profile is not that dissimilar to the Fiat 130 in the photos.
A 400/412 is first on my list if I ever come into a bit of money. They are vastly unloved, but in my eyes a very pretty car.I guess he must like these coupe looking Italian cars as I understand earlier this year he bought a lovely Ferrari 400 whose side profile is not that dissimilar to the Fiat 130 in the photos.
I was listening to mr Evans breakfast show this morning, and was pleasantly surprised to hear him raving about his latest purchase - 1978 130 coupe, tape player and velour interior. Good for him, these cars are great for cruising about in (although mine I purchased recently has an autobox, which is poor !). As discussed above, they look great too.
With mine back in action, and a few having sold at auctions recently (mostly RHD) I presume there are more than 5 on the roads today, would be interesting to know how many.
Anyway, the 130 was on my top trumps bucket list, but is actually a nice place to sit and drive (slowly) so I will be keeping for the winter. Anyone know how to contact mr Evans to congratulate him without the benefit of facebook etc ?

My Dad has one of these in the early 70's, white with blue interior, he really loved the car until sadly the dreaded Italian tin worm took ahold.
He still has Very fond memories of it today.
You can treat rust before it ends up 'dreaded' y'know...He still has Very fond memories of it today.

Dear s,
I too have had one of these on my lust list. In dark blue, please.
And as others I also love the 400/412. An auto V12 Ferrari from the 70s, what could possibly go wrong?
An aside:
The 130 coupe is drop dead gorgeous but the saloon just doesn't gel. Any other examples, apart from any hatch-based saloon of course, where there are models of the same range with wildly differing loveliness?
regards,
Jet
