I saw a TR6 with driver enjoying the cool air and 2 MGBs with drivers not enjoying the cool air.
They are not described as "hairy chested" sportscars for nothing!

Took my CX GTi out earlier....

...and a few miles away, discovered this:

There is a bit of a story behind this CX DTR T2; it was sold by its original owner, who lived in Whitley Bay, on eBay for £2k roundabout the end of 2015. Within weeks, it was on the website of Bradley James, the classic car dealer. Bradley James gave it a wash and a polish, repeated the previous owner's eBay description verbatim, and flogged it - after a few months - to its current owner for.....£5k! I reckon they saw him coming, so nice work if you can get it biggrin

Non-standard arches and big pipes. Hmmm, wondering if it's also got a V8 rumble to it. Looks great.

Funny how manufacturers have felt the need to put endless descriptive badges on cars, things like "turbo", "auto", "diesel", "ABS" as though they were selling points. Still wonder what 4-matic is on modern Mercs, sounds like 50's Americana.

Personally, these last of the line "quirky" Citroens were already showing signs of conformity compared to their forefathers. The nose and monumental front overhang just don't work for me. Interesting, different thing to own tho' smile

They certainly were in the 1970s/80s, because such things weren't commonplace.

Nowadays, these functions are taken for granted because virtually every car has them.

Everyone associates Porsche with petrol engines and nothing else, so going diesel was a big thing for Porsche. Probably also a reminder to new owners not to fill it with petrol.

First time I can remember seeing one in the wild - looked like a slightly rubbish rip off of a Maserati, but that’s the price of diversity...

I remember when they launched them. They made a big thing of the Pininfarina styling and I believe they wanted to target the European market as well, so got plenty of coverage in the motoring press over here. But it didn't really happen. Nevertheless, it was a relatively handsome thing in comparison to 90% of the dross that Detroit was churning out at that time.
