According to this short video, it looks as if opening the door automatically drops the window as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLGMQ6WG9Kc
At last I know what's being referred to - came across the exchanges in the last page and couldn't find the beginning. BMW seem to have used low seats and high cills regardless of the fact that, by the time you can afford one, you'll not be the supple fit young person the designer assumed you are, so getting in and out is not easy.
The trend has reached normal cars like the 320d estate which, as another of the older members here, I can still just about cope with, but do wonder how long I'll be able to.

I'd have trouble getting into something that low....
I find I can usually get in......However, trying to get out again is usually where it all goes horribly wrong for me
Getting my legs out of the rollcaged interior wasn't easy.

Popped to the Ace Cafe last night to catch up with some friends, this rather well put together Piper was in attendance
The Piper factory in Emmbrook near Wokingham was on my bus ride to school. I used to love seeing the cars being wheeled around the yard during construction. If I go to a classic car show I make a point of going to see them. Nothing like a gaggle of Pipers to improve the day. They didn't have a very good name locally for quality. Towards the end of production the word was they were spraying gel coat and chop strand mat into the moulds. I don't know, didn't care really, I just pictured myself swanning around in one.Silverstone Classic last month:
The one Jonesy saw at The Ace Café is the second one along. The yellow one next to it has a hatchback.
Lovely.
