Apologies for the terrible picture
Nice......very nice.

Couple of lesser spotted 4WD classic jap estates.
Quite a practical car to keep at your chalet in Meribel.
Reliable, appreciating.
Amazed they survived the rust carnage.

A friend sent me this link today. A real period piece and as he said, a car spotter's dream.

Plenty of PH anorak potential there!

My best spot is on the card from 'Sea Palling' I pitch the white car as being an Alfa Romeo 2600 Tipo 106).

But what about Oddicombe Beach Babbacombe? Looks like an early photoshop. What appears to be an Avenger Estate dropped into the pic has a front end that is 'Opelesque.'
I've spotted the interloper! All the others are well before my time but in "Cleethorpes" I can see a blue jellymould Astra Mk 2, a blue facelift Cavalier (both right of frame) and a Seat Ibiza (next to the white Fiesta driving along) so I'm guessing 1986.

Edit: The white "Fiesta" may well be a Toyota Starlet but let's not mention that....

Second Edit: And the blue Ibiza may well be a Lada Samara but the date is still roughly valid....!

A journey on the M6 northbound this afternoon was made pleasurable by following this beauty for a few miles near Stafford.

Even my 17 year old daughter, who has zero interest in cars, remarked on how beautiful it was.

And.... Fiat 131, Renault 18, 2 Allegros and Volvo 343. What about the metallic red car next to the Volvo? My guess is a Talbot Tagora.

That one did stand out a bit. For me the hair and clothes on the lass at bottom left told me just as clearly it was the 80s.

Note the Flash Harrys parked on the pier.

Now I see a Montego and a Fiat 127. Still baffled by the red metallic one though. May be a Vauxhall Transcontinental?

We need one of those tracing paper overlays with numbers a number for each car.

My tuppence worth from left to right;
Silver Volvo 240
Maroon Jag saloon ??
Not sure
White Cortina
Pale gold could be anything, I'll say Lancia Gamma (!)
Red Cavalier hatch
White not sure at all
Maroon Escort maybe
Blue SEAT as mentioned above
Little green thing..I wonder...
White FIAT 131 is a good shout by someone
Orange blue and red Allegro estate
Orange Allegro
Yellow MK3 Escort
White van as details above
Blue Jelly mold Astra as mentioned
Blur Mini van
Blue Cavalier hatch
Blue Renault 12
Maroon Talbot (??)
Yellow Vauxhall Chevette
Blue Zastava ??
Blue Escort

Young lass in dungaree shorts baggy top and big hair. Ahh, happy times.

How did I do?

I thought it was a Chrysler 180 but the wrap around bit of the rear bumper isn't long enough (nor is it for the Vauxhall either I don't think).

I'm with you on most of those. That Lancia Gamma is I think something far more prosaic. Ital maybe?

Still convinced that the Volvo is a 340, not a 240.

If not a Transcontinental Vauxhall, how about a Viscount? I'll go for a Fiat 128 as the 'blue car.'
