Anything with funky '80s electronic displays gets my thumbup because maintaining them involves sorcery. smile

Yes it does tongue out

I recall it as quite a punchy thing, esp the MG, good comfort and so on, BL trying to fight back against Ford and VW etc. Probably let down by shoddy build quality and not-great engineering or development. But I remember them quite fondly, certainly more of an "oh look! how cool" moment when I see one now, than a Gilbern.
I had an MG Maestro (efi) in 88 as well as an XR3i, XR2 and 205 cti. It was technically more advanced than any of the others, better equipped and trim, but much more an A road and M Way car than for B road fun. I had it for 2 years, took it from 6k to 50k with no problems, something I couldn't say of the others.

From memory, was it one of the first CAD produced cars?

Always think they’re going backwards. Would make a stylish forward cab pick-up design if the front was the back.

It’s cool ‘cos it’s so ugly. The back is quite funky too smile

Lovely cloud9
I still miss mine. My 1967 1800S was my daily driver in the mid-90s. frown

The Elan's beautiful, but I think I'd rather bring the Ace home. cloud9cloud9cloud9cloud9

That's the S2 Europa I went to look at when it was for sale at Sunngingdale Classics a few months ago, a loveley thing, I hope the new owner is enjoying it.

This was mine back in the '70's. I loved that car, I believe it was turned into a hovercraft. - Yes, you read that correctly.

I’m sure this car belongs to a guy in the Z club who used to own a lovely wine red 260 ... he’s not had it too long but loves it. Can’t see the plate to verify but there can’t be that many ‘68 P1800s in that colour and condition.

Even allowing for the very wet conditions, I can't see these two being the best tools for the job of getting up Shelsley Walsh in the fastest time! hehe

(If it was covered in ice and snow - Now that might be a different matter! wink )
