COOL CLASSIC CAR SPOTTERS POST!!! Vol 2
Discussion
Agree with many, whether now legal or not a black and silver fitted to anything that wouldn't have had them new looks so very wrong IMO. Reflective plated like the ones fitted to my old ford below would have been fitted from as early as about 68 I feel and would have been adopted by most dealers at the time

Beautiful!
You're spot on of course but black & silver plates were still fitted by plenty of dealers up to '73, and in one example I came across recently a very early LP400 Countach press car had black and silver N reg' plates on in period where it was featured in 'CAR' magazine, it was pitched against a Porsche 911 and Ferrari Boxer Berlinetta. Looked odd mind!

Spotted a pair of Ferrari Dino 246s on the M40 yesterday, a yellow 246GT going north in the morning and a red 246GTS going south in the afternoon. Couldn't believe my eyes at first... wonderful!
Coming back/going to from Silverstone Classic I guess. Saw a few on the infield on Saturday.FFG
No photos as I was driving, butI spotted a British leyland special tuning support bus on the A14 on Sunday afternoon. Looked like the red BMC job that I think is in the states owned by the guy from 'chasing classic cars' reg was BMC 27 all I can find googling is a 1:43 scale model. Is it an original or a replica?

British Car Auctions at Blackbushe. Not the ideal way of selling a tired classic in my opinion. They have prestige car auctions but they tend to be newish cars. This should be in Bonhams or somewhere similar I'd have thought.

Is it going through, can't see it on the BCA website?
The Top Cars auction apparently. It wouldn't start for the auction it was supposed to be in and went in a later one which might explain why it dropped off the catalogue. It went for £46,000 or heading off towards £50,000 with the fee.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
