Don't worry, you're not alone Yertis.

At first glance I'd decided it was probably some sort of Challenger variant. The centre console below the dash is very similar.

Agree. Honestly, I'd assumed it was some sort of kit car replica.

paperbag
My phone photo obviously didn't do it justice. In the flesh the car just oozes quality.

Yep, same here.

While the hot rodder in me can appreciate the workmanship in the upgrades......the old car nut in me would rather have an original spec E, with much patina and distinctly lacking in 'gloss' smile

Hang on, this is PistonHeads.

Surely the only right answer is I want to have both, but neither is, of course, as good as the MX5?!

hehe
That's what I said when I saw it! It was a good card to have.
Engine size and top speed were unbeatable from memory.

HP too, that's where the 450 came from.

It did have Chrysler 426 Hemi in it which explains why it trumped most things back then when it came to engine stats smile (other than number of cylinders)

Yes ,much better than the 1500 with the federalised bumpers.

When I was at college ,most of us had old bangers for transport.

One bloke ,a Jack Barclays apprentice and son of a very well known sportsman ,had a new X1/9 1500.
