At Sleap Aerodrome this morning.

Apparently run at Snetterton last weekend and came 1st.

Does 120mph in second!

...
We rolled up at Sleap just as the Morgan was leaving, is this Vitesse yours?

My father had one just like that. I still remember the petrol smell that got into all the food shopping he put in the back! Nothing like 4 star infused Sunblestsmile!

Apologies for the dodgy backseat photo but saw this on the way to Heathrow and thought it was pretty cool:

Original Chapron $$$
Not much change out of £100,000+ for a genuine Décapotable, but all credit to the driver for bringing it out. Not sure how many Chaprons were built RHD, but likely not many!

No, I was there with some other TVR guys enjoying a fatboy breakfast in the control tower. When we came out we saw the Morgan and as we were leaving afterwards exchanged waves with the Vitesse driver who was arriving.

More for the Merc fans - this lives just round the corner from me, Note the extended bodywork between the doors...

As it's brown, I've presumed not an ex-funeral car
Probably belonged to some Embassy to waft around the ambassador.

The ad came on a few times last night (telly on in background at work) and I caught a glimpse of the front and knew it was an SM..then saw the woman get out of the back door...erm, hang on: BACK DOOR?!?!?!? which prompted me to do a bit of googling. 1 of 7 by all accounts.

Yes it was Solihull (only from 1964 to 1974)

Nah, the fastest thing that Trabi has is the Goodwood Festival of Speed sticker in the back window.

Then again...

hehe

I remember having that roof-rack, absolutely identical, square ally cross bars and those two strange long wide slotted side pieces - it clamps to the gutter with 4 short thin strips of soft plastic for protecting when the bolts are tightened.

This was around the late 60s/early70s.
That one on the Trabi is in incredible condition.
Classic part now, the owner probably paid more for it than the Trabi! biggrin
