I don’t think that’s a V8. Wrong wheels. And the 2300 badge really gives it away.It also has the correct wheel trims. The 2300 had povvo spec all grey hub caps.

It's got the right badge. Also you can see that it has both a speedo and rev counter - the 2300 had a speedo only.
I'm prepared to take the correction and I agree your reasoning is sound. But when I zoom in on the picture I see 2300 on both my PC and phone.Dr Interceptor said:
According to the DVLA, the Blue SD1 is 3528cc.
It's obviously had some welding in the past - it failed it's MOT in Jan 2017 on corrosion in the arches.

How the heck has this survived this long. My Dads TVR787S sdi died in 1991 at 14 years old. It started to rust the first year he had it when new.

Do you not see this when it's expanded to full size?https://thumbsnap.com/f/uUAWaRBZ
The dials do also look like two large ones with one needle each resting at about 8 o'clock. I guess that means speed and revs to an expert.

I hadn't. But that is very clear, thanks. And the MOT check above confirms. My error on the wheels and poor quality zoom on my PC of the original post photo.Have fond memories of that hairpin! The MX-5 owners club held an event there a few years back and two runs up the hill were included in the entry fee. One of my mates locked up just before the hairpin leaving a very neat no. 11 on the approach, and had to be dug out of the gravel trap.
About a year afterwards, a mate gave me a phone. On it was a video he'd taken of my run up the hill; you could hear all my friends' groans of disappointment when I failed to go flying off at the hairpin!
