Here's a 1974 example just listed here in New Zealand. Is £50,000 where they're at these days? I'd be worried to drive it let alone take it off road.

Advert says:

This is a once in a lifetime chance to own the best condition Range Rover early “C” code chassis 3 door Classic we have ever seen. This example in the rare and sought after colour of Lincoln Green was found in very tidy original condition and has since been refreshed with many brand new factory replacement parts. Anyone who has undertaken or costed a restoration will appreciate the enormous cost and heartache involved in getting a vehicle up to this standard.

The interior is immaculate throughout re-trimmed in period correct materials and style where required replicating how it would have looked when it left the factory.

While it was already a clean, straight car, the paintwork has been refinished by the highly regarded “James Lee Design” of Christchurch in the factory original Lincoln Green to a very high standard making this the most pristine example you are likely to find. There is no rust or corrosion evident anywhere. (Pre-paint photos are available on request).

The engine bay is original and unmodified with the matching numbers factory fitted 3500cc motor and 4 speed manual gearbox. It has been fully serviced with all new ignition components, reconditioned carbs, new oil and filter etc. This is a reliable and easy to drive car, totally suited to either daily use or as an appreciating classic to add to any collection.

Yes, £50k is about right for a strong asking price.
There's a fully restored one (£60k resto) at Tom Hartley Jr for £50k; 2 door, suffix B.

I'm not quite ready yet, its a 72k mile original car with BL passport and service history, 2 original keys, matching nos and new mot. Low owners, 3 i think, with a note book of every mile covered and fuel used!
not sure what its worth either..i had a romantic idea of using it as a runaround but in 4 yrs it hasn't happened so its time to move it on...

Good Evening all,

My lovely Range Rover has decided to throw its first two issues after two years of pain free service.

The first was a collapsed sun roof switch. This happened when the sun roof was open (of course!) and I got round it by plugging the switch in backwards to get it to close. But now I need a new switch so if any of you kind gents happen to have one knocking around please do feel free to drop me a pm.

Secondly, and a little more worryingly, we appear to have a sporadic hesitancy issue. It seems to happen on light throttle at around 55-70mph. When it happens there is a big momentary loss of power. Seems okay on acceleration etc and idles fine so I'm at a loss of where to start. I thought that ignition system might be a good idea. I understand the correct spark plugs are NGK BPR6ES ? Also, where would be best for a rotor arm, dizzy and leads?

Many thanks smile

Rimmers or LR Direct will have everything you need:
https://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-PRC5255?gclid...

https://www.lrdirect.com/PRC5255-Switch-Window-Lif...

The sunroof switch is the same as the window switches (it is in my 1993, but check on yours), so in an emergency you can always pinch one of those, or wind it closed with the handle (if you've got it) or a big flat blade screwdriver. Unclip the console around the switch and interior light and you'll see the slot.

Ignition is a bit trickier. Easy things to check for free - multiplug on the side of the air flow meter is fitting tightly. Gently bend the pins to get a tighter fit if needs be. Check the vacuum advance pipe on the distributor is in good nick and fits snugly at either end. Check the ignition leads are routed correctly and are pushed on correctly. You could take the plugs out and have a look at them and see if anything is obviously amiss. One thing not ignition related but seems to make quite a difference at idle speeds is to check the breather pipe from the top of the left hand rocker cover isn't full of sludge. If it is, take all the pipes and the breather off and give them a clean in petrol.

Anything else is going to start costing money and a lot of tail chasing so make sure the basics are OK.

These are a good combination of quality and value plug lead:

NGK BPR6ES Spark Plugs are used in a lot of garden equipment so you can buy them cheap from places like:

has anyone else been looking at the 2 door in vogue on eBay?

the auction expires in 2 hours and its currently bid up to £9411

this looks cheap to me given the previous "barn find" In vogue aka wreck, that sold for £15k and needed full resto

it seems to be a complete car with all the right bits - probably the Inverness location has put people off?

anyway - just the heads up for anyone after a rare 2 door

£13,200 is not far off the £15k of the other one. I think it's time to stick my two door In Vogue on eBay, I'm never going to get round to doing it.

Picking up my In Vogue tomorrow

Tempted to try and recreate this shot early one morning

The earlier photo was taken outside the rear entrance on Jermyn Street, not at the front on Piccadilly.
