Steeds broadspeed xjc
Discussion
If anyone finds out what the two RNLI Ferraris go for (250 SWB and 275 GTB) at the end of the auction, can they please post it in the following General Gassing thread unless someone beats you to it?

Well I have a problem with this. I was a real Avengers fan back in the day; partly due to the magical sillyness of it and the undoubted appeal of Mrs. Peel's ass!
There were some scenes of Steed driving the Coupe from inside the car and it was definitely a manual. I remember that distinctly. I am also sure it had different wheels from this one. It is of course, highly possible there were two or even more cars used for filming and, if this is the case, the manual one would certainly have been a lot more interesting; and worth the money!
I wonder what would happen if it turned up next week as a "barn find"?

Not that it matters but for clarification, Emma Peel was of course in The Avengers and drove a Lotus Elan. Purdey in The New Avengers was played by Joanna Lumley. RichB said:

and drove a TR7, if the grey matter serves me correctly. had a cat called Purdey, after Joanna, cos it was blonde......well, white really.

Does anyone know where I could get a body kit for the jaguar xjc, looking for the broadspeed /steed look.
Not a hope anymore, other than posting a wanted ad somewhere. Someone might just have one of the kits lying unused in a shed somewhere.I remember seeing ads in old CCC's and Hot Car up until the early 80's advertising Broadspeed style fibreglass arch/spoiler kits for the XJC. Can't remember the name of the firm that made them though.
Otherwise, it's getting a good bodyshop to fabricate them in ally.
