Take your pick with this one. Someone’s house out in the Fens. The white American-shaped thing had a door and rear lights missing. There was also an old white 80s Range Rover covered in moss just out of shot.
For the Fens, this property looks immaculate!

What do we think: 74-81 Firebird with flares?For the Fens, this property looks immaculate!

They look like original wheels to me, hubcaps missing, that's all. Still a nice 'straight' car tho. I think I can see through the window that it has the base model dash. Well worth saving.Watcher of the skies said:

Well worth saving.I could count at least 5 of them coming and going in our family fleet over the years. Great ride with the Hydrolastic suspension and particularly roomy.
I hope that one is giving good service. The 2 door is a classy body style IMHO.
A mate of mine at college had a white L reg one back in the late 70s - although only 7/8 years old, the sills and rear arches were showing signs of rust at the seams. It was as basic and tinny as you might expect - being a brassic college kid he used to put £1 of petrol in it at a time!

I bought this last year;

Previous owner lost interest and drove it into a field where it sat for the last 5-6 years.
Brakes and steering were seized, there was moss growing in the footwells and it was a mixture of (brush painted) black over green with a layer of mould on top, giving it a 'camo' look, though most of that (including the black paint) came off with a jetwash.
Currently stripped down to component form for a rebuild with upgrades...
^^^ that isn't an old BT Landrover 90 is it? As it looks like BT yellow on the hinges and underneath that paint? As my dad always had Landrover's when he worked for BT. His last one before he retired was a non TD, no PAS yellow F reg 90, that was then repainted in the newer BT grey colour for the last few months he had it.

His colleagues all had the TD5 90 and 110's by that point, and they came in the grey colour from the factory,

My first car in 1984 was an Austin 1300 4 door LUE147L . Could never work out why the Mini was so popular when the Austin was bigger inside and really comfortable. It had been fully repainted and repaired by a relative. New trumpets in the inner wings and lots of welding. 17 yr old me then regularly shredded the rubber drive shaft couplings. I got quite good at fixing them….I thought wheelspinning was cool.The brake callipers on my £30 Austin 1100 winter old-banger used to seize on after one application. This taught me how to drive pretty long distances (26 miles each-way rural commute), without ever applying the brakes, otherwise I had to free them off with a brick-end at the end of my journey.
I bought a 1300 for £25 with tax and MoT while I was at school. The thing would turn over very well but for some reason refused to start. Fortunately I lived at the top of a steepish hill and perfected the art of bump-starting it by gaining momentum and bumping it as many times as it took to fire up. I lived 2 miles from school and it often took nearly a mile to start it!
Ours far outlived its expected one final winter life span. Once I had repaired the brake callipers with a kit, it went on to do plenty of East Midlands to Liverpool University student runs with my brother at the helm (often with his cat sleeping peacefully on the floor under the rear seat, just above the warm exhaust pipe). My dad also used it as a station car for a long while, as well. We finally sold it after 2 or 3 years for £300, so a 10x mark-up!

No, it's actually a series 2A that's been heavily modified; shortened Range Rover chassis (so coil sprung) with defender wings/bonnet/doors, 2.5 TD engine with full-time 4wd, 5-speed box. As for the yellow, other than the roof it appears to have had yellow diagonal stripes up the sides at some point and there are traces of red and at least 2 different shades of green all plastered with matt black, applied by a brush but bulkhead, screen, rear tub, sides & roof are all series so, it's a bit of 'bitza'.His colleagues all had the TD5 90 and 110's by that point, and they came in the grey colour from the factory,
Currently undergoing a full rebuild with some upgrades, starting with a petrol V8.
