Was the idea to free up space in the boot, or were they originally sold without a spare anyway (seems unlikely for that era tbh)?
Think the rover 3500 had optional Dunlop Denovo run flats as an option in the 70’s, not sure they were ever standard or still had a spare?Think the Mini also had them available for a short while.

1275GT also available with them.
The wife of a couple I knew used to have one, a 90 I think. They were retired and used to spend the winters somewhere tropical. While they were away I used to give their classic cars a runout every now and then to keep them active. The Auntie Rover was pretty awful to drive. Very much a 1950s experience and yes very slow.

A P5b is a much desired car of mine (especially a coupe) but these look big ugly and slow. If a car can look slow?Edited by Ifinishposts on Wednesday 29th January 16:52

A friend of mine's dad had one (I think a 95) and someone in an Anglia 105E had brake fail on a side road and hit his Rover in the side. The front of the Anglia was a wreck, his Rover had a small mark which had to be buffed out. There used to be one which raced at the Goodwood Revival, albeit at the back of the field.

The house these are parked in front of is completely overgrown with weeds and algae. The plot occupies a commanding position on a Bristol city hillside and is probably worth serious money, but the house itself must be a wreck inside.
What are these rusted out shells?

Good Lord are those still there? I used to drive past this house in my GT6 so that’s at least 30 years ago. Thinking about it, they were there well before then. Amazed the place has not been done up yet but it’s a funny part of town. Although the whole city has gone peculiar now.Have you noticed the 'Nice One.' graffiti that has appeared at certain key locations around the city?
I dray for Arbor Ales, one thing I really enjoy about the job aside from the massive amounts of free beer is the chance to explore the city properly. PM me if you want a box or two of beer.
