How, why ? What was it being used for ?
The mum of one of our friends had one back in the 70s. She took 3 of us all out for a day trip one summer holiday. The journey included one of those “big dipper” type sections of road. She had given us a bag of mint imperials to eat and we lobbed them out of the back of the Herald and watched them cascade down the road behind us. Funny how some 50 year old memories stay with you.

You see how children's entertainment has changed, now they just sit with their heads buried in their phones.Dapster said:
Decent steer back in the day. I had one as a loaner between co cars - 2.0 SRI. With firmer suspension and sporty seats, they were a very pleasant. Well put together as well. Probably a better can than the pov spec BMW 3 series I had ordered but what's a thrusting 20 something exec expected to do!
Yea they weren't bad, my dad was a fan. He had a V6 like the one pictured then a newer shape with the 3.2.He thought it was the fastest thing in the world.

I'm pretty sure I know this car. It was owned from new until at least 1989 by an old couple in a village called Merton, north Oxfordshire and I used to do some work on it. She had this, he had a 1970 Triumph 2000 and he had retired around that time from Triumph at Canley. Both cars had Warwickshire registrations. The 2000 was a good old bus. Once, I had to press the ring gear back onto the flywheel and give it a couple of babs of mig weld as it was coming adrift, gradually eased off by the starter motor.

You'll find the Herald hasn't done many miles.

Well this is odd - this is owned by my old next neighbour and was until a few month’s back immaculate and in daily use. He has just had a new baby - I wonder if the two are connected…

I took a pic from that exact spot a few weeks ago but haven't got around to uploading it. I just looked the spot up on Google maps and it wasn't there in Sept last year. Such a shame, the 928 is such a cool carDapster said:

He paid strong money about 7/8 years ago and absolutely adored it - in fact the last time I spoke to him was to let him know he was about to get a ticket on it outside the Maynard and it was gleaming as always. Very strange - not taxed since July last year.Edited by wjs1968 on Sunday 9th February 20:41

It's been in that driveway the whole time I've lived in the area (5 years), never moved and the house (although on a opulent road) also looks like the car, dilapidated and everything overgrown.
