According to the DVLA it has a 1999cc engine in it which suggests that the original 995cc twin rotor wankel has been swapped for a Ford V4. A very common swap in the 1970's when the wankel gave (expensive) trouble.

It is also shown as being taxed until April 2026.

I had that V4 in a 1970 2000E Corsair - coarse. Pity as it was fabulous car otherwise.

Specifically this one:

And in my day - still got the spare key! Why would you add those awful wing mirrors - it was completely standard when I bought it from the original owner. The only thing i did was a bare metal respray.

This in Handsworth, huge run down house. Black MG Montego under the brambles.

Clearly the home of an appreciator of fast bargain barges; the VRN of the Rover comes back as a Turbo.

My dad had one back in the day (UPT 282E). He chose it over a 1600E, much to my disgust laugh The engine was dreadful but the rest was really quite nice. Lovely gearbox, nice interior and it looked good in a quirky sort of way.

I don’t remember the waistline strip on the sides however; sure ours didn’t have it.

Neither did this one originally - nor the dreadful wing mirrors or wooden gear knob. It was completely as it left the factory when I sold it ☹️

Wonder what's in the garages.

In 1977 I had a Mk1 Capri 2 litre that used the same engine. I actually thought that it was all right. Went very well indeed and was pretty torquey. Not exactly a sports car engine but much about the Mk1 Capri was not a sports car anyway.

Ours had the same wing mirrors, and as dad bought it new I assume they were probably a Ford (FoMoCo) option.

Spiders, lots of dead woodlice, a sheet of chipboard and some dried-up cans of emulsion.

It hasn’t moved in years. If you zoom in the moss is round the silhouette of the car which is parked not quite straight. A few cars down was a VolvoT5R estate that was lowered on some nice rims. I wondered if they were owned by the same person. I did think both cars were cool as.
