R reg Mk4 1500 Spitty not MoT’d since 2005 … looked very neglected.

No tax since 1999 weirdly.
My first car was an Inca Yellow spitfire 1500 - OTX747R - bought in about 1984 and sold in about 1987 for spares or repair.
just checked on the MOT Checker and the last MOT expired in June 2018

This guy is a piece of work, known him since I was a kid, friends of the family, always lived with his parents until they died, now lives alone with a lot of old cars and boy has he some cars , was racing a Big Healey in the late 60`s, I remember him giving me a lift to school in a modded TR5 in about 1977, terrifying hehe

He was then into Yank muscle cars, had everything including a 69 Roadrunner which is still on the property, modified for illegal street racing in the late 70`s

A Celica in previous pic, he got into Jap cars in a big way next, throughout the 80`s & 90`s, Rover 800 here.

If you look beyond the P100, there is a car under a tarp. that`s a 69 Plymouth Roadrunner, I didn`t go poking around, haven`t seen Peter for about 4 years, he`s quite private, but a really nice guy, eccentric as all hell though.

In the building at the far end, there are 2 Humber Pullman Limos , they were his dad`s, the business was wedding hire and taxis.
In the building to the left, the Healey, or 1 of them and the TR5 may still reside, not sure though, not been in there in decades. Seems like the muscle cars and Japanese stuff have faded away.

The house has had no attention in at least 50 years, it`s in a shocking state, makes me a little sad, his mum & dad were great folks, Bruce was I think what everyone`s idea of a WW2 RAF Wing Commander would be like, hehe, he was , provided the cars for my Mum & Dads wedding day, MKII Zephyr.

80`s Nissan here I think, sad to see so much has gone, must go and see him at some point, maybe he will open up a little .

Think I`ll need a machete though.

Those bluebirds were bulletproof. I bet if you put a new battery on that and new fuel she would fire up first time.

I haven't seen one of these for years, I think since my friend's dad got rid of his about 10 years ago, until last week when I saw a mint C-reg one driving round near me. The bloke in it did look a bit like the guy from the HubNut YouTube channel, who has recently done a video on one of these that Nissan UK have electrified.

Slowly dissolving on a drive in South London. 10 years ago it was immaculate. Probably haven't seen it move in 5 years

My Dad used to have one of them. Used to bring it home from work. We still have loads of leather tool cases of all the little spanners and screw drivers needed for fixing telephone exchanges.

There was an episode of Bangers and Cash where one of them was restored and in a private collection with all the equipment in the back. It looked amazing.

Wasn't that one yellow with Busby stickers? My Dads was green and in GPO markings as above. By the time he got a Telecom van he was driving a Commer.

There was a red one at the local depot, I have a pic somewhere. K reg I think so getting on for one of the last. Think the apprentices might have restored it but not sure. Was left outside and was going to pot, then it disappeared. Had the gold livery from memory. Think I might even have put a pic on this thread. I’ll try and find the photo I took of it.

This has been here for a while. I did speak to the owner a couple of years ago. Apparently they were planning to start using it again.

I don't know, I've always quite liked them. Don't see many around now though.

There's probably no more gearboxes or clutch cables left for them.

Plenty in this yard. Went to enquire about the Soarer I posted a photo of a couple of weeks ago only to learn it had just been sold.

Photos below of a Mazda, couple of Rollses and a UK-spec Rover P5B.
