These were mostly Jags by the looks of things.

Except the one bottom left … A364 XGN … which looked as though it had recently been removed from a hedge …

Those Granadas appear to be outside the homes of some loveable itinerant rogues.

Couple of Granadas seemingly dumped. The green one was bodily in very good nick from a quick glance,
Those plates look wrong on that, not originally silver on black when it was produced.
Although legally prior to Jan 1980 they can have them fitted, used to be 1975.

I had an F plated Escort with black and silver plates and they were original.

It's left hand drive as well

The other one is proper top spec - alloys, rear headrests, sunroof and the spot lamps....Ghia X?

The Green one looks great. You really can’t beat that era of Ford Ghia’s for genuine opulence.

Note the address is "The Brambles", appropriate it would seem.

I have a question about Saabs, in Sweden in particular.
In 67 Sweden switched from driving on the left to the right but before then (and after) all the cars are LHD.
Does that mean they drove LHD cars on the "proper side" left?
I assume they started with RHD then sold LHD a long time in advance (which meant people driving LHD on the left for a while) but there would still be RHD driving on the right after the switch.
There isn't an easy way to do it. Buses would have been worse, passengers getting out into the traffic!
I asked a Swedish guy last night and he said they never produced RHD cars for the local market. So even when they drove on the left (pre 67) they had LHD cars. Which is strange.

He couldn’t tell me why they used to drive on the left, but bizarrely mentioned Sweden is the only EU country to have kept its (Krona) currency! Random.

Apart from Denmark that also has the Krone.

Or a host of others that have kept their own currency.

Where was it - I think the top gear trio were - that had recently made the switch, somewhere African maybe? Was chaotic.

According to the Wiki, one reason for Sweden's H-day, for "Högertrafikomläggningen", was that 90% of their cars were Left hand drive, when they still drive on the left!
Also and from that article, much of urban public transport had been by trams, which were scrapped in favour of new, RHD, bus fleets!

Another batch taken yesterday from where I am at the moment.

Forgotten the last time I'd seen a Volvo S70. The E39 had no 'i' badge next to the 528 as well. Doors locked so had to clean some dust off the front passenger window and try and take clear snaps from the outside.

Meaningless - The i badge is separate to the 528 model badge, so it could have been stolen, could have been missed off after some paintwork on the boot lid, or could be missing for any number of reasons.

All of the E39's are fuel injected, with or without an i on the boot lid.

This ^ E39 production is way past carb equipment/fitment

My thoughts as well, although I'm not sure which company car driver at the time will have gone to the length of stealing the 'i' badge to put in between '2.0' and 'GLX'!

I’ve lived in the Gulf (2000 to 2002) and back then rust on cars was a real problem due to the sea air and I suppose the intense humidity. There were many outlets that provided rust proofing services.

The E39 is an excellent car. I had an E36 325i Coupe when I worked there. They were always well specified with every option box ticked.
