On a similar note, I was watching Banger and Cash recently and they mentioned a Jaguar XKR(?) sitting in their compound that was sold at auction and presumably paid for but no-one has come to collect it and they don't know who the new owner is. So they're stuck with it.
I remember that, and I remember thinking how badly that reflected on their business management that someone has taken part in and won an auction, paid, yet they can't find the details. Of course, the buyer could just have realised what they'd bought, changed their name and emigrated just so they didn't have to take delivery.

That I think is a Rapport Excelcior with a nose off of a pre facelift mk 2 Granada

Rapport Engineering made a few oddities including an XJS based coupe/convertible with a folding hardtop decades before the Mercedes SLK and a Triumph Acclaim based Ritz. They made an ill advised move to a hugely expensive Park Lane showroom which eventually sank them

Did they give up on it? I remember reading the thread and thinking "sooner you than me". It looked an awful lot of work for questionable reward.

I think he gave up, yes, and sold it on pretty quickly. A convertible IIRC.

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling he doesn't like to talk about it. Maybe he deleted the thread or something?

MOT expired 5 1/2 years ago. Mileage at last MOT was under 100k and although it consistently failed most of its MOTs none of them was particularly tragic.

From that single photo it looks as though somebody might've started a bit of a restoration on it, although currently given up.

Not sure you'd want it - despite looking OK from a distance it was as rough as with the tell-tale front wheel arch crown splits of doom

The trailer is also having a wheel arch crisis in sympathy!
